Tiffany Harris was born in Louisiana but spent her childhood living in and traveling to countries all over the world. She attended university at Iowa State University where she studied Microbiology and Emerging Global Diseases.
My research is to develop a mouse model using the bacterium Neisseria musculi. The model will be used identify factors for infection that are important for the bacteria that cause diseases such as meningitis, gonorrhea, and sepsis. The focus of the model will be to study immune responses to fragments of the bacterial cell wall, also known as peptidoglycan.
