Rachael Shields is a Ph.D. student in the Department of Design Studies within the School of Human Ecology, as well as a licensed landscape architect and drone pilot. Her research focuses on how environmental novelty can enhance cognitive well-being and improve the quality of life for older adults. Beyond academia, Rachael embraces novelty in her own life by continually seeking out unique foods and new experiences.
